Membership eligibility
TruEnergy FCU Membership is available to all full-time, part-time, retired and intern or volunteer employees of Washington Gas Light Company and its subsidiaries, in addition to the approved companies or organizations within our charter, including:
- Immediate Family: Spouse, child (step/adopted), sibling (step/adopted), parent, grandparent, grandchild
- Household Member: Persons living in the same residence
How to Join
It’s easy to begin membership with TruEnergy FCU. You can do it online in less than 10 minutes. Simply open a Share Savings Account with a $5 deposit and no monthly services fees. Then you’re done and officially a member of TruEnergy Federal Credit Union! With membership you now have full access to our premium loan deposit and financial services.

In Person
Simply visit our Springfield Branch and a Member Service Representative will gladly guide you through the application process. You will receive your membership card immediately. All applications are subject to our verification of your eligibility.
By Mail
Just print out the membership application from the website. Complete it and mail it to:

You must also mail with the application:
A copy of your valid picture ID (driver’s license, passport or state ID) and if the address on your ID does not match the address on the application, we need a proof of address (copy of utility bill, paystub, or invoice).
